CV360® is a popular intervention tool used in schools and youth centres in Hong Kong, designed to help young people understand themselves better. It enables them to articulate their Values, Attitudes, Skills, and Knowledge (VASK) as well as their strengths and interests through an exploration of their paid and unpaid work experiences.

CV360® considers a wide range of activities as work experiences, not just traditional paid employment. This broad view of work, known as the Expanded Notion of Work (ENOW), provides young people with a wider perspective as they consider various career paths that align with their VASK, helping them to make more informed decisions in their career and life development.

CV360® is a web-based platform designed to help young people create comprehensive profiles showcasing their Values, Attitudes, Skills, and Knowledge (VASK) derived from their work and life experiences. Its goals are to provide an editable format that can be constantly reviewed and adapted, serving as a versatile tool for creating online CVs.

The CV360® platform features a variety of games and VASK identification tools which help users to map their VASK in light of Expanded Notions of Work. In the VASK mapping games, users are asked to choose the images or words that best describe themselves in various situations. The choices made are then analysed using built-in logistic analysis, providing insights into the VASK attributes they are most likely to possess.

ENOW-VASK apps consist of six mini-games, each representing different work scenarios, both paid and unpaid. Upon completion of a task or mission within these mini-games, users earn and accumulate relevant VASK attributes.

The platform also hosts a Job Role X VASK library, which includes over 100 job, each with a detailed job description and the associated VASK attributes. The aim of this feature is to enhance users’ understanding of the VASK attributes required for specific job roles. CV360® plans to leverage social media to promote various job posts and their corresponding VASK matches. The platform also offers step-by-step video guides, helping users to navigate the process of completing their CV360® profiles.

CV360® is designed to offer a user-friendly experience, primarily geared towards increasing self-understanding and confidence among users. It requires users to have access to the online resource.

CV360® is a career and life development tool developed by CLAP@JC, funded and created by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust and co-created by academics and youth service practitioners. CLAP@JC aims to redefine career and life-planning services by operating at an ecosystem level and advocating for a broader understanding of talent, work, and success. The project has established the Hong Kong CLD Benchmarks to enhance and measure the delivery of career and life development among young people.

The CLAP@JC website features a growing resource library that includes detailed job descriptions for over 100 professions, including both traditional and emerging roles, to assist users in understanding different job requirements. CV360® has been widely adopted in various youth development initiatives by the Trust, such as the Jockey Club Experiential Learning Project for Students with Special Educational Needs (JCELP), which aims to enhance generic skills for students with intellectual disabilities using innovative teaching methods. The project integrates career and life development with skills enhancement by using adapted CLD Benchmarks and a version of CV360® tailored to capture their unique VASK. Another initiative, JC ProCruit C is a professional traineeship program for first-time job seekers that has developed 16 emerging professions, such as Well-being Planner, using the VASK framework. Employers participating in this program have incorporated CV360® into their recruitment, training, and coaching processes, receiving positive feedback for its practical value in empowering youth and supporting their transition into the workforce.

The CLAP@JC website is introducing a VASK-based self-assessment, validated in 2022 with over 4 000 students and youths by the Hong Kong Institute of Asia-Pacific Studies at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Additionally, the CVI (Core Values Index) Value Assessment, with 43 questions, helps respondents evaluate their orientation towards 12 key values such as Impact, Money, and Tradition, aiding in self-discovery and career alignment. Another tool, the Cross-cultural Personality Assessment for Youth (CPAI-A), includes 90 questions that assess four main personal orientations—Social Potency, Dependability, Emotional Stability, and Interpersonal Relatedness—across 25 subfactors. These assessments provide valuable insights into an individual’s values and attitudes, helping tailor CVs to align career paths with personal traits.
