The OECD Development Communication Network (DevCom) helps its members improve their communication strategies. It facilitates peer learning, gathers expertise and good practices, and brokers partnerships.
The aim is to help organisations:
- Demonstrate results and explain the value of international development co-operation.
- Modernise the narrative and terminology used to describe development co-operation.
- Build public support and tackle mis- and disinformation in a fragmented and polarised media landscape.
- Reach a broader set of audiences, including the private sector.
- Understand latest trends in news consumption and master new communications technologies, including artificial intelligence.
Membership is open to organisations that provide development co-operation and finance, including foreign ministries, bilateral agencies, multilateral organisations and development banks.
DevCom’s work programme includes regular in-person and virtual events, as well as training opportunities based on the DevCom Toolkit. DevCom’s analysis, campaign briefings and monthly newsletters help members stay up to date on trends in development policy, public attitudes research, marketing, media use and behavioural science.
