Ambassador Per Fabricius Andersen took up his duties as Permanent Representative of Denmark to the OECD on 3 September 2026.
Ambassador Andersen began his career at the European Commission in Brussels before joining the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Within the Ministry, he held several positions focused on European affairs and international co-operation. Between 1991 and 1995, he served as Head of Section in Copenhagen, followed by an assignment as First Secretary at the Embassy of Denmark in Paris from 1995 to 1998. He then returned to Copenhagen as Deputy Head of Department for EU Enlargement (1998-2003).
From 2003 to 2008, he was posted to the Danish Permanent Representation to the European Union in Brussels, where he worked on EU institutional affairs, the Multiannual Financial Framework, cohesion policy and enlargement. He subsequently served as Chief Adviser and Deputy Head of the European Policy Department in Copenhagen (2008-2013), including as Project Director for Denmark’s Presidency of the Council of the European Union in 2012.
He became Head of Department and Controller at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from 2013 to 2015, before becoming Head of the European Policy Department (2015-2018). In 2018, he served briefly as Acting Under-Secretary for Europe and North America.
Later that year, he was appointed Deputy Permanent Representative of Denmark to the European Union, a position he held until 2022. He subsequently served as Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Denmark to the European Union from 2022 to 2023. From 2023 to 2026, he has served as Ambassador of Denmark to Greece and Cyprus.
Ambassador Andersen holds a Master of Science in Economics and Business Administration and speaks Danish, English, French and German. He has also been awarded the distinction of Knight First Class of the Order of the Dannebrog.
