The OECD 2026 Ministerial Council Meeting (MCM), chaired by Finland, with the Korea and New Zealand as Vice-Chairs, will be held on 3 and 4 June 2026 at OECD Headquarters in Paris. A series of related meetings and side events will take place from 1 June 2026.
The 2026 MCM, under the theme “Getting Industrial Policies Right for Open Markets, Growth and Prosperity,” will discuss how industrial policies should guide technological development while preserving open markets and competition, and how governments can manage the trade-offs that are involved.
Selected sessions of the MCM and related events will be open to media in person and online. An initial calendar of events is provided below and will be updated regularly online. A list of participants attending the 2026 MCM will soon be available here. Additional on-site and remote media briefings may be offered.

All journalists wishing to cover any element of the Ministerial in person at the OECD, including but not limited to the 3 June presentation of the latest OECD Economic Outlook and the MCM Opening Session or the 4 June Closing Press Conference, must register for a Ministerial media badge.
Please note that separate registrations are required for remote coverage of press conferences.

The OECD has been at the forefront of international efforts to promote human-centred AI, through initiatives such as the OECD AI Principles, the Global Partnership on AI (GPAI), and the Reporting Framework for the Hiroshima AI Process (HAIP) International Code of Conduct for Organizations Developing Advanced AI Systems. Co-organised with the support of Costa Rica, Japan, and the United Kingdom, this side event will feature presentations and the opportunity to discuss recently developed tools supporting AI policy, including the first release of the AI Policy Toolkit and an updated version of the HAIP Reporting Framework.

Media access
Accredited journalists not travelling with Delegations will be required to present a valid press credential and ID at the OECD main entrance at 2, rue André-Pascal, as well as pass through a metal detector. Luggage and bags will also be subject to X-ray control.
A single badge will grant access to the areas used for public events. You will not have access to the MCM restricted zone. Photographers and cameras will only be authorised to access the MCM rooms for specific photo sessions accompanied by OECD staff.
Media workspace including internet access and power will be provided. All journalists who register for on-site coverage will receive a virtual media kit and be invited automatically to an online technical briefing to review logistical details. Public sessions livestreamed on OECD TV will also be available for viewing in the workspace.
