The OECD will launch a new Survey of Adult Skills (PIAAC) on Tuesday 10 December at 11.00am CET.
In an era where the digital revolution is reshaping economies and societies, it is crucial to understand the proficiency of adults in literacy, numeracy and adaptive problem solving. Taken together, these skills provide the basis not just for personal and professional growth but for navigating the complexities of modern life.
The OECD tested around 160 000 adults aged 16-65 in 31 countries and economies in 2022 and 2023 (see list below). Of these, 27 took part in the first Survey a decade earlier.
