The OECD will launch OECD Regions and Cities at a Glance 2024 on Friday 6 December 2024 at 09:15 CET.
The 2024 edition of the report explores the size, scale, and evolution of megatrends such as climate change, impacting regions, cities and rural areas. By offering internationally comparable data, the report highlights countries where economic or social outcomes - or both - have been stronger, offering valuable insights for policy development in regions with weaker performance.
The report provides timely and detailed metrics on the impacts of climate change, skill shortages during transitions, and access to opportunities for various socio-economic groups in regions and cities. For the first time, this edition includes internationally comparable estimates of real GDP and household income growth, adjusted for regional price changes.
A launch event to present the findings will take place on Friday 6 December at 09:15 CET, including opening remarks by OECD Secretary-General Mathias Cormann and OECD Director of the Centre for Entrepreneurship, SMEs, Regions and Cities, Lamia Kamal-Chaoui. Opening remarks will be followed by a video presentation of the report and a panel discussion.
Journalists are invited to follow the event online on Zoom by registering here.
